چکیده

The biochemical compounds in kenaf leaves and flowers mainly consist of flavonoids, including flavonoid glycosides floral anthocyanins. In the present study, we performed comparative transcriptome analysis using RNA-sequencing identified putative genes involved flower coloration different developmental stages three mutants Baekma (white flower), Jangdae (ivory Bora (purple flower). A total 36.1 Gb reads were generated for two accessions 38,601 representative transcripts with an average length 1350 bp yielded, which 33,057 (85.64%) annotated against databases. Expression profiling 1044 472 differentially expressed (DEGs) among young bud full bloom stages, respectively. KEGG enrichment these DEGs revealed that pathway was “biosynthesis secondary metabolites”, phenylpropanoid biosynthesis biosynthesis. Consequently, investigated related to pathway, included 45 from a 1358. Our results provide useful information understanding gene functions kenaf, will be further studies.

Reference genes selection for transcript normalization in kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) under salinity and drought stress.

Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus) is an economic and ecological fiber crop but suffers severe losses in fiber yield and quality under the stressful conditions of excess salinity and drought. To explore the mechanisms by which kenaf responds to excess salinity and drought, gene expression was performed at the transcriptomic level using RNA-seq. Thus, it is crucial to have a suitable set of reference g...

Characterization of Developmental- and Stress-Mediated Expression of Cinnamoyl-CoA Reductase in Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.)

Cinnamoyl-CoA reductase (CCR) is an important enzyme for lignin biosynthesis as it catalyzes the first specific committed step in monolignol biosynthesis. We have cloned a full length coding sequence of CCR from kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.), which contains a 1,020-bp open reading frame (ORF), encoding 339 amino acids of 37.37 kDa, with an isoelectric point (pI) of 6.27 (JX524276, HcCCR2). BLA...

Accumulation of kaempferitrin and expression of phenyl-propanoid biosynthetic genes in kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus).

Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus) is cultivated worldwide for its fiber; however, the medicinal properties of this plant are currently attracting increasing attention. In this study, we investigated the expression levels of genes involved in the biosynthesis of kaempferitrin, a compound with many biological functions, in different kenaf organs. We found that phenylalanine ammonia lyase (HcPAL) was mo...

Reference Gene Selection for qRT-PCR Normalization Analysis in kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) under Abiotic Stress and Hormonal Stimuli

Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.), an environmental friendly and economic fiber crop, has a certain tolerance to abiotic stresses. Identification of reliable reference genes for transcript normalization of stress responsive genes expression by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) is important for exploring the molecular mechanisms of plants response to abiotic stresses. In this study, nine candida...

Genetic Control of Fiber Yield and Quality in Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.)

The study was conducted to investigate the ge-netic basis of kenaf fiber yield and quality In two sets of generations derived from 1X51 x Gha-na07 and Gregg x Ghana07 crosses. Analysis of generation means using weighted least squares procedure was performed on stalk dry weight, bast percentage, days to flowering, plant height, and basal stalk diameter . Analysis of generation means revealed tha...
